Dining: European restraint, interpreted through warmth and

proportion.

From Place to Palette

We’re fortunate to work with clients from all over the world — creatives, founders, families, and global citizens living in and moving through New York City. Their references don’t come from one place. They come from a lifetime of travel, culture, and lived experience.

Travel changes how we notice space. The way light hits limestone in Greece. The quiet restraint of Parisian apartments. The warmth of wood tones in Mexico City. These experiences don’t copy-paste into interiors — they translate. At AGR, travel becomes a design language: texture, proportion, mood, rhythm.

Most people think “travel-inspired design” means themed rooms. Mediterranean arches. Moroccan tiles everywhere. Parisian moldings for the sake of it. This often results in spaces that feel staged rather than lived in.

How we approach it:

We translate feeling, not aesthetics.

We look at:

Light quality (soft vs. dramatic)

Material behavior (raw plaster, polished stone, linen, aged wood)

Spatial rhythm (compressed entries, open living zones, intimate corners)

Cultural habits (how people gather, host, and rest)

Bedroom: Mediterranean warmth, softened through a modern, livable lens.

In a Florida home influenced by Mediterranean travel, we avoided literal arches and instead focused on warmth, tactile materials, and a slower spatial rhythm — allowing the space to feel grounded rather than coastal-themed.

This type of translation work begins in our Concept Development phase, where we define the emotional and spatial direction of a project before any construction or major purchases begin.

In Their Words

“We weren’t ready for a full renovation, but the concept development alone was worth it. It helped us clarify our vision, layout, and overall direction in a way that made everything else feel easier to execute on our own. Highly recommend if you want direction without committing to full service.”
